One of the big sports in the Tenor high school community along with soccer and basketball, is volleyball. When talking with one of the star players Lyniah James she explained to me why she loves volleyball and the joys she has while playing especially with her younger sister. While talking with Lyniah I asked her a couple of questions in an interview to see how she truly feels about the sport.
The first question I asked her was what did she like about playing volleyball, she explained to me that she enjoys being active and the thrill of playing volleyball especially when winning. The second question I asked her was how she liked playing volleyball with her sister. She responded by saying “ I really enjoy playing with my sister, I feel that when we paly we go hand in hand when playing.”
The next question that I asked her was, has she ever played any sports with her sister in the past? She told me that in middle school they played sports together like basketball and track where they were on the same team. I then asked her what she felt the draw backs of volleyball were. She said that “it becomes frustrating when your teammates don’t take the game seriously and they play around, I’m very competitive when it comes to sports so when this happens it’s hard to concentrate when you are trying to keep others in check.”
